Particle size (radius >0.15 µm) and number concentrations were measured with two optical particle counters. One of these 5 included an ∼80 cm inlet heated to >244 K to obtain measurements, within PSCs, of the size distribution of the stratospheric particles upon which the PSC particles condensed. These measurements are compared to models that calculate the evaporation of PSC particles. The modeled evaporation for supercooled ternary solutions is in good agreement with the measurements. For nitric acid trihydrate it is uncertain what 10 happens to the particle as it is brought to temperatures >50 K above its equilibrium temperature at stratospheric partial pressures. Here the modeled evaporation show too low evaporation compared to the measurements.

In December 2001 and 2002 in situ aerosol measurements were made from balloon-borne platforms within polar stratospheric clouds (PSC) which contained particles of supercooled ternary solution (STS), nitric acid trihydrate (NAT) and ice. Particle size (radius >0.15 µm) and number concentrations were measured with two optical particle counters. One of these included an ∼80 cm inlet heated to >244...
متن کاملExperimental and Theoretical Investigation of Drying of Green Peas in a Fluidized Bed Dryer of Inert Particles Assisted by Infrared Heat Source
Drying of green peas in a Fluidized Bed Dryer (FBD) with inert particle, heated by combined sources of hot air and InfraRed (IR) radiation, has been experimentally and theoretically studied. For this purpose, an experimental set up was constructed. This setup was composed of a cylindrical bed dryer containing some inert particles which are fluidized by hot air. Some infrar...
متن کاملEffect of pleurotus sajor-caju polysaccharide encapsulated in poly D, L lactide-co-glycolide nanoparticles for HPV vaccine in murine model
Objective(s): In the current work, poly D, L lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) particles were applied for a viral vaccine for the delivery of antigens in cytosolic pathway by increasing the antigen presentation to T-lymphocytes. HPV-E7 protein with PLGA particles has been reported as a potent adjuvant for HPV vaccine by encapsulating protein into the PLGA particles. Polysaccharide from Pleurotus sajo...
متن کاملTwo-Phase Electronic Cooling Using Mini-Channel and Micro-Channel Heat Sinks: Part 2—Flow Rate and Pressure Drop Constraints
Increased rate of heat dissipation from electronic chips was explored by the application of flow boiling in mini-channel (D = 2.54 mm) and micro-channel (D — 510 \x,m) heat sinks with special emphasis on reducing pressure drop and coolant flow rate. A pressure drop model was developed that accounts for the single-phase inlet region, the singleand two-phase heated region, and the two-phase unhea...
متن کاملModeling of Initially Subcooled Flashing Vortex Flow in the Nozzle for Possible Applications in the Control of Ejector Cooling Cycles
Ejectors are known to be beneficial to vapor compression cycle performance as they can recover the kinetic energy released during the expansion instead of dissipating it in a throttling process. It is desirable to introduce an adjustable feature to the ejector so that ejector cycle performance can be optimized under different working conditions, which could make ejector technology more suitable...
